oil tank removal, chimney lining if necessary or other venting requirements, amount of gas pipe necessary to reach the new unit and the correct size of water heater for the homes needs. There are a multitute of logistical concerns that come into play that will affect the cost which is why an in home consultation is imperative. Prices could conceivably range from $5000 to $12000.

There should be a label on the boiler itself,if it is an EK1 is has a gross output of 121,000 Btu/hr and a EK2 is 206,000 Btu/hr. Don't use these numbers to assume that is the size boiler needed just because that is what is there. System 2000 can operate efficiently when oversized due to the unique nature of the controls,others can't and must never be oversized.

getting a lemon with the System 2000, I doubt it. As you stated with the filter getting clogged that would happen to any heating system installed in your home, it just happens to be a System 2000. There are a few reasons that cause filters to repeatedly stop flow and usually have nothing to do with brand of heating system. With regard to the calibration issue Sytems 2000's set up quite easily so long as you have a combustion analyzer.
